HCFC Community Service Day at Filling in the Blanks 2026

Join Harvard alumni in supporting local families at this volunteer opportunity on Saturday, October 17th!

Please join us for our first community service project of the year!  We will be assembling food packets for local families in need on Saturday, October 17 from 9:30-11:30 am.  This event is being coordinated by Filling in the Blanks, a non-profit dedicated to fighting and eliminating childhood hunger.  Filling in the Blanks was founded in 2013 and now serves 10,000 students throughout Farfield, Westchester, and Putnam counties. 

This event will be a wonderful way for us to give back to our communities.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.  Please note that children must be at least 14 years old to participate.  There is no cost for the event.  All registrations must be completed by Saturday, October 10.  The process for registering adults and children ages 14-17 is enclosed below.

Filling in the Blanks | Fighting Hunger Locally since 2013

Date/Time:  October 17th – 9:30am to 11:30am (please arrive by 9:15 am)

Address:  346 Main Avenue, Norwalk CT - entrance is at the double doors.

Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothing as you will be working in a warehouse.

 

For new volunteers, please create an account HERE.

  • Make sure to complete all the prompts on the screen, including the waiver. If you do not complete the Qualification section, you will not be able to sign up for the event.
  • Then use the event link to sign up.

For new volunteers who are minors (ages 14-17), there will be a 3-step process.

  • First, sign up for an account HERE 
  • Please answer all the questions including signing the waiver.
  • They enter your parent’s information and email address so the parent can sign the adult waiver. The minor will not be able to register without this step being completed. **Please note, the parent email tends to go to the junk folder; please have them check there**
  • Once the parent signs the waiver, the minor will receive an email saying this step is complete.
  • At this point, they will be able to go to the link for the event to sign up.
