Dinner with Harvard Law School Professor Rachel Viscomi
Director of the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinic
The Harvard Club of Fairfield County is excited to welcome Harvard Law School Professor Rachel Viscomi for a dinner discussion on negotiation and conflict resolution.
Professor Viscomi is the Director of the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program, where she trains lawyers in dispute resolution and supervises projects related to dispute systems design and conflict assessment. She teaches advanced negotiation courses including “Designing Dispute Systems for Justice,” “Facilitation Workshop: Leading Challenging Conversations in Business, Politics, and the Community,” and “Advanced Negotiation: Multiparty Negotiation, Group Decision Making and Teams.” Her teaching and consulting work has taken her all over the globe, from Northern America to the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Central America, and Africa.
The topic of our program with Professor Viscomi will be conflict assessment. Drawing on both her own extensive experience as a lawyer and consultant and on academic research, she will address how parties to a conflict understand the scope of their dispute, identify those with stakes in the dispute, and take stock of their needs and interests so that they can reach resolutions. With applications to business, community politics, family relationships, international conflict, and innumerable other aspects of public and personal life, and plenty of time for your questions and insights, we expect a lively and engrossing discussion.
Thursday, May 8, 2025. The Field Club of Greenwich, 276 Lake Avenue. Cocktails and conversation beginning at 6 pm, followed by dinner, and then Prof. Viscomi's remarks and your questions.
$84 for members of the Harvard Club and their guests; $99 for non-members. Includes dinner and dessert. Cash bar separate. Country club attire (the Field Club requires collared shirts for men; no athletic shoes).
