16-orchestra-chorusx146Five Harvard Clubs Event in the Berkshires

Lunch at the historic Elm Court estate, followed by the BSO's performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at nearby Tanglewood.

On Sunday, August 25, the Harvard Clubs of Fairfield County, Northern Connecticut, Southern Connecticut, Western Massachusetts and Worcester will be hosting a joint summer event in the Berkshires.

The day will begin at noon at Elm Court, a Gilded Age former Vanderbilt estate in Lenox, where a member of one of the clubs has invited the group for lunch.

At 2:30 pm at Tanglewood, just a few minutes' drive from Elm Court, the clubs will be attending the Boston Symphony Orchestra performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, conducted by Hannu Lintu.

Registration required for Elm Court.  Our host is generously providing lunch for all attendees.  To help the club provide an accurate head count for our host in advance of the gathering, we will be charging a non-refundable registration fee of $5 each for club members and their guests, and $10 each for non-members and their guests. No charge for children 13 and under.  The registration fees will be used as donations to the club's scholarship fund.

Please note that you must have a concert ticket (either shed or lawn) to access the Tanglewood program, which is not included in registration for the Harvard gathering.  You can buy concert tickets, and get more infomation on the program and the artists, on the BSO website here.  Given the day's schedule, there will not be a single meeting point on the lawn for all the clubs as in past years, but we will try to communicate one for HCFC attendees in advance.

Please join us for a unique opportunity to experience Elm Court in the company of Harvard friends, and help us re-establish the New England clubs' tradition of a summer Tanglewood meeting!

REGISTRATION AND THE WAIT ARE NOW CLOSED.  IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY SIGNED UP FOR THE WAITING LIST, WE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF WE HAVE SPACE.  YOU ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE TANGLEWOOD PROGRAM IN ANY EVENT, BUT WE MAY NOT HAVE A DESIGNATED MEETING POINT FOR HARVARD CLUB ATTENDEES AS IN PAST YEARS.
