imageLocal Alumni Artist, Cara McCabe

Local alumnus, Cara McCabe will discuss her journey to becoming a professional artist via an interactive Zoom event.  January 20.

Our local alumni author series has been so well received that we have launched a new series; local alumni artists and musicians will present their works as well as talk about the process of creating and the challenges of their individual mediums.  Cara McCabe, local alumnus and professional painter will kick off this series on January 20 via Zoom.

Cara grew up on a farm in Newburyport, Massachusetts.  Sher has over 25 years of experience studying and working as an artist.  She is motivated by emotional connections and relationships. Her paintings often have elements of psychology, mythology, and spirituality.  Her work spans a wide range of painting techniques, from landscapes to portraits to abstract structures.   She combines her painter's eye and photographs to translate various colors, moods and textures into an artistic experience. She uses oil, acrylics, charcoal and mixed mediums. During this one hour Zoom talk, Cara will take us inside her studio and show a few quick techniques. She will share with us her artist's journey.  She has aspired to be a full time professional painter since childhood and on that path she encountered both joys and challenges until her vision was ultimately realized.
