China Researcher at Human Rights Watch to Speak on China's Impact on Global Human Rights
Join us for a Zoom presentation and Q and A session about the influence of the People's Republic of China on the future of global human rights. Yaqiu Wang is a China Researcher at Human Rights Watch and a PRC native with a Master's degree in International Relations from George Washington University. She focuses on freedom of expression, internet censorship, and women's rights. She has written for the Atlantic, the Washington Post, and Foreign Policy. She has been interviewed by the BBC, CNN, and the New York Times. Her most recent work examines the Chinese owned global platform TikTok, its censorship policies and its close ties to the Chinese government.
