Eleven Harvard Clubs Event at Tanglewood
A picnic on the lawn at the classic New England summer venue, followed by the BSO's performance of music by Gershwin and Stravinsky.
On Sunday, July 21, the Harvard Clubs of Cape Cod, Eastern New York, Fairfield County, the Hudson Valley, New York City, Northern Connecticut, Rhode Island, Southern Connecticut, Vermont, Westchester County, and Western Massachusetts will be hosting a joint event for alumni during the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer season at Tanglewood.
We will gather at 12:30 pm for conversation over a bring-your-own picnic lunch. The clubs will provide soft drinks and dessert. The concert will begin at 2:30, with Music Director Andris Nelsons, piano soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and the BSO performing pieces including Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F and variations on "I Got Rhythm," and Starvinsky's Petrushka.
Registration for all eleven clubs' members will be centralized on the Harvard Club of Fairfield County website, and is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and over, including soft drinks and dessert. You must have a concert ticket (either shed or lawn) to access the Harvard meet-up location, which is not included in registration for the Harvard gathering. The meeting spot will be under the large oak tree in the center of the lawn, behind shed section 11 and in front of the sound board. There will be balloons to identify our group's area.
