On Friday, May 20, 2016, the Harvard Club of Fairfield County will hold the first edition of what we hope will become an annual tradition: a golf outing.
Join us at the Oronoque Country Club in Stratford for:
- An 18-hole round, with cart
- Lunch and dinner at the club
- Closest to the pin and longest drive contests
- Prizes for the winning foursome
- Use of the driving range
The four-person scramble format*** will be fun for golfers of a wide variety of skill levels. Men and women will play on the same teams. You are welcome to play with teammates you select (email us after you have all registered), but you do not need to have a team to register - we will happily assign you to one.
Tee-off is at 1 pm. Lunch (at no additional charge) will be available from noon to 1, along with complimentary use of the driving range. Dinner will immediately follow golf.
You are also welcome to join for golf only or dinner only. See below for separate charges.
Price: $120 for members of the Harvard Club of Fairfield County, other invited Harvard Clubs, for golf and dinner combined, or $95 for golf only, $40 for dinner only; for non-members and their guests; $145 for non-members for golf and dinner combined, $120 for golf only, $65 for dinner only.

*** In a scramble, each member of the foursome plays from the location of the best shot last played by any of them. I.e., every member hits a tee shot to begin a hole. Then every member of the group plays his or her second shot from the location of the best tee shot among the group, not necessarily the location of his or her own shot. This procedure is repeated for every shot in the round, allowing everyone to contribute meaningfully to the team's score over the round, and making for fun, fast play, and much lower scores than any player could achieve alone.
