Autumn Apple-Picking Outing
Join us for a family-friendly classic New England autumn outing at Blue Jay Orchards, 125 Plumtrees Road, Bethel, CT, Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 pm
Savor the early fall weather and classic New England scenery in this nearby orchard, and hand-pick your favorite apples, while enjoying the company of HCFC members and families. To start the day, we'll meet for cider and doughnuts on the lawn, and then visit the orchard as a group. Blue Jay also has a pumpkin patch to enjoy, included in the admission fee (pumpkins are available for purchase).
Registration includes a pre-paid bag for your apples (the only way pick-your-own apples are sold at the orchard), and light refreshments. Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 pm. (rain date - only if notified by the club by email - Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 pm). Per the farm's rules, no pets, please.
According to Blue Jay Orchards, a medium bag holds 10 pounds of apples and a large bag holds 20 pounds of apples on average.
Members and their guests:
$25 per person (with a medium bag of apples for each registrant), or $50 per family (with a single, large bag of apples for the family)
Non-members:
$30 per person (with a medium bag of apples for each registrant), or $65 per family (with a single, large bag of apples for the family)
