Victor Rud, '72 on "Understanding Russia's Assault against the West"

A talk by a prominent international lawyer and sought-after Russian affairs expert, at Riverside Yacht Club.

Victor Rud, '72, will speak with the Harvard Club of Fairfield County about Russia's meddling in American politics.  His talk will address questions such as: What are the connections among Paul Manafort, Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2014, nuclear disarmament, and the contemporary situations in the Middle East, China, and North Korea? What must we know about Russian dezinformatsia? He will take your questions and respond to your comments in this interactive discussion.

Victor brings a unique and seasoned perspective to this discussion.  He has been practicing international law for forty years, and otherwise has been engaged in a number of capacities related to Soviet/Russian affairs and United States/Soviet/Russia relations. He has served as special counsel to a member of the U.S. delegation to the Madrid Review Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe.  Victor has advised members of the Ukrainian parliament.  And before the fall of the Soviet Union, he represented, in the West, Soviet dissidents persecuted by the KGB.  Some of his writings have been carried by the Atlantic Council, Forbes, Defense Report, the Kyiv Post, and the Foreign Policy Association.
