The Maturing Family: Navigating the Journey™ Successfully

Janet Simpson Benvenuti (HBS 1985), Founder and CEO of Circle of Life Partners and nationally recognized expert on the issues of aging and eldercare will be speaking on this important topic on 10/29 in New Canaan.

The Harvard Club of Fairfield County and the HBS Club of Connecticut in conjunction with the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan is proud to announce that Janet Simpson Benvenuti (HBS 1985) is going to be our speaker on this very important topic that is relevant to so many of our alumni and their families.

Event Synopsis: There are many people in our community concerned about the issues of aging – both for themselves and their parents.  This program is designed to help them address the following two key questions and associated issues:

  2. Does your family have a plan to address these without negatively impacting the stability of the family group? 
Expert on aging Janet Benvenuti, draws upon 25 years in health care to share strategies and resources that will help parents and adult children address the legal, financial, medical, and caregiving challenges, even when the family is operating long-distance.  Attendees will obtain knowledge and tools to proactively help loved ones (and themselves):
  • Navigate the health care system effectively
  • Avoid common and costly legal and financial mistakes
  • Make housing decisions wisely
  • Better utilize on-line, community and local caregiving resources

Speaker Biography:  Janet is a leading resource on family health advocacy. A former pharmaceutical executive and management consultant, Janet founded Circle of Life Partners to provide families with the knowledge and guidance they need to support their aging loved ones after supporting her own toddlers and parents simultaneously living with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Author of "Don't Give Up on Me!" and a frequent keynote speaker, Jan’s wildly popular programs have been delivered to clinicians, professionals, business executives and the general public in venues as diverse as Harvard Business School, the Women’s Bar Association, and the End-of-Life Consensus Coalition. When she’s not speaking nationally or coaching families personally, Janet serves as a strategic advisor to health care providers, including the Women’s Health initiative at Brigham and Women's Hospital, as well as entrepreneurs in the aging/healthcare space. Jan holds a graduate degree in nuclear chemistry and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
