An Evening with Connecticut Public
Enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres and gain an inside look at the field of journalism!
Join us for an evening at Fairfield University with Club member and HBS alum Mark Contreras, President and CEO of Connecticut Public, the state's primary NPR and PBS affiliate and home to a growing number of local journalists in Fairfield County. Mark and a Connecticut Public journalist colleague will talk about the recent growth in public media and how Connecticut Public in particular has taken the lead in investing in increasing local news about our county. These efforts are occurring in the context of a decline of local news in Connecticut and indeed across the country over the last couple of decades. Mark's presentation will cover both the business side of news media and a behind-the-curtain look at how this important work is done.
Heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served, generously sponsored by CT Public.
Admission is free, but open only to our Harvard alumni community and their guests, so please register ASAP to assist CT Public with planning and catering.
