A unique lecture and performance bridging music and medicine

On Thursday, May 3, 2018, the Harvard Club will visit the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, New York, for a unique program by Harvard alumnus Dr. Richard Kogan. Dr. Kogan, who is both a Professor of Psychiatry at Cornell Medical Center and a concert pianist, gives combined lectures and concerts that explore the role of music in healing, and psychological factors in the works of great composers.  His topic for this performance will be Leonard Bernstein, marking Bernstein's 2018 centennary.

Dr. Kogan has delivered his programs at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and the BBC in London, among other places.  The New York Times has praised his "eloquent, exquisite, and compelling playing," and his Harvard classmate Yo-Yo Ma has said of his work "I came away from this extraordinary lecture and performance deeply moved by a fascinating presentation."

Program begins at 7 pm.  There will be a wine and cheese reception beforehand, with details to follow.
